Didnt know if this should go in Mobos or here, so here it is.

When removing my old processor somehow I managed to get some AS5 on the socket pins :(

As far as Im aware AS5 is conductive? So this is a bad thing right?

I used some TIM cleaner on a cotton bud to dab the area and then some more on a sheet on bounty and soaked it up as best I can. I gauged when it was as clean as its going to get when the bounty wasnt absorbing any more AS5. Leaving it to dry now.

Tell me itll all be ok!

I bought a second hand E2160 and whatever bozo last owned it previously managed to get some AS5 on the back of the chip. Worked without a hitch mind.

Just be careful when picking up a cotton bud, sponge etc. from the pins - I bent one slightly coz it caught on a strand of fiber when cleaning some AS5 that had spilt into the socket on one motherboard...

Aslong as you clean off as much as possible and theres nothing connecting 2 pins together it should be fine.
