Temps are getting a bit to toasty for my liking, 3.6Ghz C2D 6600 1.46v , temps were getting to 70 and i have a Tuniq Tower  :( , I only fitted it a week or so ago, very disapointed with these temps, im wondering if its worth lapping or just reapplying AS5, perhaps i can try the credit card application method?, any suggestions?, currently have the chip downclocked till i decide what to do.

EDIT : 2k Post's :D

Hmm im not sure i used the stripe of AS5 down the cpu when i applied it, is it worth trying a thin layer across the cpu?

I covered the core in a very thin layer of AS5 like I do on all my builds. Im getting 46/47 loads on a E6300 @ 3.3Ghz - 1.45v

Try reseating it and apply a very thin layer over the core. I heard many people in exactly the same boat as you with the E6600, either the E6600 runs that bit hotter or some of them are Concave :(

Try feeling the Tuniq under load.

My E6300 @2.8ghz was reaching 58 under orthos with the heat spreader covered in Artic Silver 5. Now lapped and Artic Silver 5 applied as recommended over the cores, now reaching 43. Also using the TT120.

What is your cases airflow like? The Tuniq is a great cooler, but if cool air is not flowing through your case temperatures will be high.

you are right , yf you put the Tuniq inside a oven,it cools nothing at all :)

I have a thermaltake armor with 5 case fans so theres no problems there ;)

Always do a thin layer accross just enough so you can barely see the cpu underneath i use a bit of a rizla packet to spread mine.
