Asda beats Sony's 'special PS3 offer' by £50

British supermarket ASDA is offering the 40GB PS3 for RRP of £299 with two games (Need for Speed ProStreet and FIFA 08). This beats the Pick N Mix bundle which comes in at £349.99 leaving you with enough money for another game, or a controller, or maybe your shopping for the week. "This is an amazing offer for all those gamers who were disappointed not to get the PS3 for Christmas." an ASDA spokesman said. The offer is running at ASDA stores from 31st January to 3rd February.

think this is OK - wouldn't call ASDA a real competitor against OcUK although they do sell the odd computer thing.

Anyway if not then a MOD can feel free to remove this post.
 
a high street store does the pick n mix deal + burnout paradise for £350 which i think is better deal since you actually get good games and more choice. OP is still a good deal though and can definitely see the appeal
 
Nice deal if you dont mind the games I guess.

Im still not sure if im going to even buy a PS3, they need to come up with a much better deal to tempt me than the ones thats around though, maybe we will see some nice bundles with the new dual shock controler and new releases in the coming months.

Is there any time of the year apart from christmas that they usualy drop the prices, as i've not really noticed any other than christmas.

You could always ask in store if there'd be any chance of changing the games, if it was the difference between getting a sale they may, if you speak to a manager or supervisor.

If not I guess you could always flog them as new on ebay or trade them in.
 
Games are pretty naff imo, but I suppose you could sell them to get your money back ;). I'm on the hunt for a PS3 with no games for cheap as possible, not going to game on it, just watch movies.
 
If I had the money, I'd be extremely tempted for that price and probably sell the games. Unfortunately as I'm very skint for the next month, it isn't going to happen.
Have to cross my fingers it happens again in the next few months :D

For trade the Fifa is worth £16 cash and £21 for NFS.

Although as they would be new boxed, they could be sold for a bit more on MM or an auction or something.

I was under the impression that Fifa was a reasonable title now? It might even be worth taking NFS back to another shop to trade for another game if you're so inclined.

I'm waiting for a UK model with a bigger HDD and the DS3. Don't like the PS pad much as it is, let alone the cheap feeling SIXAXIS.
