probably of no interest to the vast majority, but

AC 1 and 2 are going ftp.

I recently returned to AC1 and I'm having a blast!

The server still has less power than your average smartphone, but the sheer fun of taking on a room of 30 - 40 tuskers and killing them all is unmatched :)

Thrill! at dungeons the size of an average town. A joy for dungeon delvers.

Cackle! as you drain tank your way through hordes of olthoi and live

explore the truly massive seamless world where you will only die from lag on really bad days!

no hand holding quest arrows or new fangled things like talents - instead hundreds of skills : you put xp into whatever takes your fancy.

Join us on harvestgain !

or not etc etc

this has been a public service announcement and I take no responsibility for lack of sleep or terror caused by wraith lords and paradox olthoi

Will definitely be on AC2 now and then, enjoyed it first time round.

Never looked at AC1, EQ was way too good ;)

Used to play loads until they did some patch one night that totally wrecked everyone's build and we went from killing things to poking them with cocktail sticks and dying everywhere.

Have they kept it as it was when the closed it down?

I never got very far in AC2 . when I left I still had not completed the second continent - Omishan.

As for AC1 they gave it a facelift a few years ago and added void magic and summoning, so now you can have monsters fight for you hehe

they also streamlined it a bit as now there is a town portal network which is like the old arwic 'subway' but accessible from every town and a 'facility hub' where there are portals to all the starter quests in 1 handy place.

it's still a great game - shame the population is so very low, but I am hoping some more returners will pop in about august time

Looking forward to it - AC1 was (and probably still is) my favourite MMO.

It's an MMO at it's finest - being able to dodge arrows / spells, having to have a brain to do quests and just making up your own fun still haven't been beaten (IMHO). I found the skill system to be fantastic - putting points into 'run', for example, made you run faster - an obvious thing I grant you but it's a system that's still not really been emulated or beaten.

I really hope it brings back the old players to the game as it had one of the best communities.
