Asian horrors!

Hey, so what would people reccomend that I watch next? I've seen ringu (bah, wasn't scary :p) the grudge which I thought was quite tense, the eye (I think it's called this, eye transplant gone wrong sort of thing). Just ordered a couple of Takeshi Miikes films, Ichi the killer (unrated US version :D) and Audition and also Battle Royale (not the special edition, heard it has bad subtitles).

What would the people of Ocuk recommend me next, i've heard good things about Dead or Alive and Oldboy, any more I should look for?

i've got oldboy to watch on DVD on my desk. it's supposed to be amazing. how helpful am i?!

Have it and watched it, really enjoyed it didn't see the end until just before it happened, need to watch it again. Ichi The Killer is great (really need to buy it)

Dead Alive (If that is what i know as Brain Dead) is not asain but by Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson is class, funny and entertaining. If you like this then try also Bad Taste, not as good imo very wortha a watch and can be had on dvd for a few quid :)
 
Ichi is a cracking film mate, especially the uncut and uncensored version. I dont rate Audition though, didnt enjoy it.

All three of the retribution trilogy are amazing, but Old Boy is the best, you need that movie!

Hana-Bi is a must watch along with Versus. In fact anything by Takashi Miike is a must watch!
 
BR with the worst subs ever makes that film. It's like..two different films at once :)

Might go buy Ichi the killer animated version, anyone know what this is like? Heared its sposed to be quite a bit violent? Hoorah!

:o completely forgot about Dark Water! Hana-Bi looks like a great movie, the plot looks promising.

I should really stop buying so many dvd's I just got paid on friday and i've ordered 7 already :o

I've read that there is a version of BR that has really bad subs, luckily I didn't get that version (I think...)
 
Actually the Special edition is the better of the two copies going round. I believe the normal version has the rubbish transfer and subs...but worst of all its an interlaced 25i signal. The special edition is a better transfer (still with crap subs) but its 25p

If it's the same on i picked up from town the other weekend for £3:99 then i will say i was dissapointed. :(
 
Dead or Alive was sweet as :) Thanks for the recommendation :cool:Is Dead Or Alive 2 anygood? Have also picked up Audition since ;) enjoyed it but was hoping for more :( I have a friend that is also into "Asian Extreme films" shall i say? and says Rainy Dog is quite cool and Gozu? Any more opinions on these films or recommendations of others?
