ASIC Quality overclocking help

Part of the issue is that "quality" is even mentioned at all, I think that skews people's perception completely.

ASIC isn't a metric of quality, it's simply a measure of how the card behaves. A low ASIC percentage card will typically overclock more, and be more forgiving with an increase in volts, they will however require better cooling (such as watercooling) to achieve that, as the end up running hotter on air cooling.

Higher ASIC cards typically overclock less in absolute sense, but will overclock further on air with less voltage than a card with a lower ASIC card.

It's to do with transistor leakage. A higher ASIC card has less leakage, so requires fewer volts to run, and as such will not heat up as much, and a lower ASIC card has a higher transistor leakage, so heats up more and needs more voltage.
