Looking for some advice guys...
Got a letter before christmas from the DVLA saying that I wasn't showing on AskMID - called my insurance company the next day and they confirmed that the policy I took out in September was indeed valid and they'd update the MID database.
I checked the MID site several times after this call, and a week later I was still not showing as insured, so called my insurance company again, I update the next guy on that fact I had been told it would be update the last time I called; again my valid insurance was confirmed and I was promised my MID entry would be sorted..... Second time lucky!
Anyway, this afternoon I came home to find a 'final warning' letter from the DVLA advising me that I had not paid a £100 fine and that I still had no insurance.... Strange, as the first letter made no reference to a fine nor actually contacting the DVLA!
So, I currently show on AskMID, I have a full and valid fully comp policy running until the end of August. Part of me really would like to tell the DVLA to #%*! off, part of me says to wait and see what they try to extort now, whereas the sensible side says I should probably open a dialogue with them.
Anyone else faced this before?
