Just ordered the above and intend to put XP on for my son.

I will install it from a flash drive as per some youtube vids ive seen.

Is there anything I need to know before attempting it?

Any general info appreciated. :)

yeah, if your aao is ssd based , don't, the ssd's acer uses are terrible with windows, driver or actual part problem unsure, but i tried it and had to put linux back onit, it is so slow

i've done it to my girlfriends laptop, however every time i come to re-install windows now i cant honestly remember how i install it from usb. so instead i got a 2.5"/3.5" and PATA adapter to USB and plug in a old dvd-rw i have laying about.
Most of the drivers can be found on www.aspireoneuser.com
however i think for the aao150 its a bit outdated so you should be able to go to the manufactures websites to find newer ones.

EDIT: Dogoid i dont think all AAO150's were ssd, my girlfriends has a standard 120GB harddrive installed.

There is a special driver you can use for Windows XP that makes it run better from an SSD. Windows 7 already has that particular driver built in.

well i installed it on w7 and it was crawling. the installation from a usb stick was nearly 2 hours compared to 35 mins on my inspiron.

i will keep an eye open for news regarding new drivers etc in this area , with it being my mums netbook and me not knowing about linux , i fear i will have to do some learning only just to install software.

the add remove in linpus doesnt give me much to download.
