Asrock 970 Extreme3 compatibility

Hey guys, looking for some advice here, I bought the Asrock 970 motherboard from OCUK a budget board i know, i just wanted something half decent to start a build. Now i thought a GPU card would be compatible with any board so long as it had the same fitting ie PCI 2.0 ect. I just read on a review somewhere that an Nvidia card wouldnt work on this board? Is this true as i have just bought a Gigabye GTX 460 SO card. I hope it will all work.

It false you will be able to run a single nvidia card.

I have the 970 Extreme3 and I'm happily running a Gainward GEForce GT 640 on it.
