ASRock AM2CPU Board

it works because the plug in daughter board has 4 ddr2 slots as well as the AM2 socket. I don't know where you'd find one now though. It would be easier just to sell the board & get a decent mid range AM2 board. Many Am2 boards will get bios updates to support quad core phenoms, I'm not sure this plug in board is likely to.

ah, i imagine the plugin board is hard to get and the price of it would make it cheaper to just buy a proper am2 board and also the way the plugin board is would restrict heatsinks.

Found one for £15... take the plunge?

I love the ASRock board it's been a 'rock' and overclocks like a dream, stable as anything. It would be a shame to decommission it.

Same here mate. I've got the 939Dual-sata2. Runs my Athlon 64 at 278fsb totally rock-solid.

I thought the board would be inherently unstable and poor performance, but looking at a few benchmarks it's actually good.

I was gonna try it but didn't think it would support a 6000+.
