Hi there

I’m building a budget pc for my daughter. I’m using some of my older parts and some new. This is what I have so far:
Ryzen 3 3100
GTX 1070 ti
WD black SN770 M2
Thermalright peerless assassin
Fractal Pop mini air

I’m in need of a motherboard. I usually buy Asus boards but came across the ASRock. Love the style which will go with the white theme and also the spec is great in terms of fan and rgb headers. Anyone had experience with this board?

Thanks
Gwyn

Haven't got this but Asrock boards are so underrated , the steel legend is a decent board as my friend got this board after I recommended it.

He Loves it.

Board seems overkill for a system like that (A520 seems more suited, price wise, in relation to the CPU), but would be decent for a CPU upgrade later.

Picked up my B450 Steel Legend from the Members Market for £60 quid a few years back & it's never skipped a beat. I can't speak for other vendors but I'm pretty impressed that they're still pushing out BIOS updates 4.5 years after the first release.

Agreed but I will upgrade it further down the line, also like the amount of fan and rgb on it

Brilliant thanks. Good too know

I have had a B550 Steel Legend with a 5600x for a number of years now and not an issue at all.

I've had a few Asrock motherboards over the years and can't recall any issues with them. They're just like Asus boards but perhaps without some over the top extra features that keep the boards price down.

Thanks for your reply. Definitely puts my mind at rest.
