Hello,

Recently bought a new ASROCK Livemixer B650 board. I'm trying to update the BIOS.

Everytime I try it says invalid file.

I initially tried through the flashback procedure, but that didn't work. Programming light went solid green, indicating an issue.

I tried using the instant flash from a USB in the setup, that failed.

Gave up and installed Windows and then downloaded the bios file again and extracted to the root of C. Tried from here and still the same error message.

Board is currently on v 3.01 bios. Trying to update to 3.16. I even tried going in single iterations to 3.06, that didn't work either.

My first ASROCK board. Am I missing something?

Umm you need to copy onto a usb stick
Yes, did that for the first 2 methods. Flashback is from a specific USB port (with computer off) . Can see the USB drive activate but then it stops.

It also doesn't have to be from a USB. It can read the root of OS drive when turned on.

USB stick formatted to FAT32 right?
Yes it was.

Seems I've managed to get it to work via flashback now. Changed a few things so not quite sure what got me over the line. Reformatted the USB, redownloaded the bios file. Had both the renamed and a copy in original name on the USB. Turned on and off the fTPM settings and loaded EXPO memory timings. Not sure what got me there but sorted now!
