Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2 (Socket 775) Upgrade

I've been looking at some reviews on this motherboard (Asrock ConroeXFire-eSATA2) and it's been given a good write up and it was on par with the Intel BX975X Badaxe.

So im sort of thinking of upgrading to the new Intel Duo Core 2 from my Intel Pentium D 920 which im having some minor problems with.

Any thoughts on this.

I dont see the use of it. You'd better upgrade when quadcore comes availible.

There are pluses and minuses to this - a 6300 and a ConroeXFire-eSATA2 will give you a substantial performance increase over your 920 system. But a 6300 and DS3 will allow you to overclock the system and give a massive performance increase. The ASRock is a bargain - but it won't overclock very well and the DS3 will.
