Hi,

Anybody got any experience of putting both and AGP and PCI-E card in this mobo and running multiple monitors?

I've wanted to get the openGL working on all my screens but using X in Linux I get a warning about incompatible GPUs when using a 7600 and TNT2. I've been told that the 6000 and 7000 series are similar and may enable me to do this?

Anyone got any idea, please?

Cheers

Andy

I used to use that same motherboard...The manual says you can use both PCI-E and AGP, but watch out for pci-3 2.0 cards....they won't work unless you get a 1.0 bios from the manufacturer and flash the GPU with it.

The board should have no trouble... the problem there is that the TNT2 is only supported by the nvidia-legacy drivers whereas the 7600 is supported by the current ones, and I wouldn't really want to be using both at the same time. Anything 5-series upwards would do to replace the TNT2.

Thanks for the replies. I currently have a 7600GS in the PCI-E and because of the issue with the linux drivers (nv v. nvidia) I need to put another 7000 series card in. Getting a PCI 7000 is a no go. AGP a possible. Another PCI-E requiring new mobo - and then I'd have to get a Quad as well :)

Gonna try it with my 6600GT AGP to see if it works and then pick up a cheap AGP 7000 series on the 'bay.

Cheers

Andy
