Asrock extreme4 gen3 system memory sharing options

Ive recently built a new system, comprising of the following components:

Intel i5 2500k cpu
8gb ram
Asrock Extreme4 Gen3 mobo
Windows 7 64bit home premium

Ive used an old nvidia 8800gts512 card in here as a stop gap for the time being.

Having just checked the nvidia System Information (from the nvidia control panel of version 280.26 WHQL), I see the following being reporting:

Total Available Graphics Memory : 4095MB
Dedicated video memory : 512MB GDDR3
System video memory : 0MB
Shared system memory : 3583MB

Does anyone else with this motherboard see similar things in the System Information screen from the nvidia control panel?

Ive gone into the UEFI BIOS (UEFI Version P1.00 here at present, will update to P1.10 as listed on the asrock website tomorrow to check features) and had a look at the options in there for disabling system memory sharing. I have changed the following settings but nvidia still shows 4gb total available graphics ram.

My Primary Graphics Adaptor is set as PCI-E
Ive Disabled Render Standy (was set to Enabled)
Ive Disabled IGB Multi-Monitor (was set to Enabled)

Curiously, i only have one option under DVMT Mode Select, and that is DVMT Mode

I have changed DVMT Memory to 256MB (was set to Maximum).

I dont see any other options under my North Bridge settings.

I would like to stop sharing the ram as a few autocalibration routines i regularly use are reading video memory as 4gb. It is possible to override the software settings, but ideally i would like to free up the system ram and only use the 8800gts cards video ram for video.

Is anyone else having a similar experience with the Extreme4 Gen3 motherboard (p1.00), Windows 7 64bit and an nVidia card running 280.26 WHQL drivers?

It's nothing to do with the motherboard, it's a Windows Vista/7 feature, all systems running either of those 2 operating systems will count total system RAM - Video RAM as shared video memory.

I have 8GB ram on the mobo, and 512mb on my gfx card.

Is there a limit to how much this feature will attempt to allocate? I cant find any documentation for it, everything is pointing towards bios settings for dynamically allocating system ram to the video card (the DVMT).
