Hmm...
This board has been a rock solid setup for me for a fair while, I used it for my Hackintosh for so long and then I put a Linux Distro onto it, and while its not been used that much lately, I was sorting it out for a mate and I have found that I now have 2 issues with it that Im struggling to fix.
First off, it always tried to use the onboard GFX for its main display and not the GFX Card.
I have disabled onboard GFX and I have tried setting the Shared memory to AUTO and even to something else, but nothing helps? I have tried a number of cards, nVidia and ATI, but nothing seems to help?
I have of course cleared the CMOS, and again nothing helps.
Secondly, the Hard Disk.
I have a 120GB SSD and a 2TB HD and the HD seems to be funky?
Now, I was trying Linux Peppermint 10 for him, cos its nice and pretty and quite nippy, but, it was kind of pausing every so often and it piddled me off. I have done a few things that make me even more confused...
The Sata port changed to another one
The Sata Cable replaced with others.
The HD in another PC ( Works just fine, I have now also formatted it and done a check of bad sectors and none showed up )
Tried a Hd in the ASRock and thats also slowed too!
Tried different RAM and now a different PSU.
But the fact is that every HD I try to use in the ASrock, goes slow at completely random times.
Example - Itry to copy some files from a USB Flash disk ( Yes, different flash disks and even from another HD on the spare SATA port ) and it copies for about 5 seconds then it pauses.. The mouse is fine, but any and all clicks are ignored then after some time, the computer responds with a barage of responses to the clicks I just did.
This happened before when RAM was playing up, but no, I have changed RAM over...
Im now at a loss???
Any thoughts on what Im missing?
Oh, and its got the latest Flash ( just in case )
