Hey guys,

My current motherboard (ASRock H81M-ITX) is going to be paired up with a H100i V2 cooler from a good deal from a member of these forums :)

What I want to know is, if this motherboard can support the feature of the Link software, used by connecting one mini USB to the pump and the other end onto a header on the motherboard? Or is it the USB 2 header it uses which would render my front panel USB totally useless.

Which isn't the end of the world as I never use them, and even if I needed to I can use the USB 3.0 ports on the I/O of the motherboard.

Thats correct, it attaches to your motherboards USB2 header.
I did read somewhere that you can run a regular usb cable out to the back of the case and into the rear usb ports.
If thats not an option then once you have set the cooler up you can just unplug the cable as its no longer needed.

Thanks for the clarification, it's no big deal, like I said I never use USB or DVD etc..and for when I do I can use a free USB on the back if needed.
