AsRock K8Upgrade-NF3 Motherboard

Hey there,

just a quickie, a friend has a AsRock K8Upgrade-NF3 model motherboard and I was wondering if it took a socket 939 CPU... below is the link to the model and everything... AsRock website

What do you guys think as I'm not 100% sure...

That mobo is only for 754 and wont take 939 unfortunatly!

That board won't take 939..trust me..

Theres a 939 processor

And theres a 754 socket on a motherboard.

As you can see they are compleatly different and do not match!

i think theres a "939cpu board" and "m2cpu board" which goes into the yellow slot after having the cpu put onto it, and a bunch of jumpers set judging by the manual

Well actually... on http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=152 it talks about another k8 upgrade motherboard. At the bottom it says

Upgrade to Socket 939 requires purchase of a special adapter.

So looks like you can with some form of adapter? :confused:

unless it came with the motherboard, chances are the adapter is hard to get and costs more than a new motherboard anyway
