ASRock releases new Intel motherboard with support for both DDR4 and DDR5 memory — The "H610 Combo" features both types of DIMM slots, but you can't mix generations

This has already been mentioned on the forum, I thought it was worth its own thread!

For those who are DDR4 rich but DDR5 poor

Asrock always helped out in the past, nice to see them doing the same albeit those considering it will look at it as a temporary solution

To be fair, if you have a i9-14900K there's a chance it's going to degrade into the silicon equivalent of an OAP on a zimmer frame anyway.

Might as well bung it directly into the proverbial retirement home.

I wonder if motherboard manufacturers get hit by knock on effects we'll see boards appear that can run DDR4?

They've done it for LGA1700 but I've no idea if it's even architecturally possible for any others.

AFAIK there's only the AsRock at the moment

@adidan , thanks for posting that, it took me ages to find it, i knew i'd seen this somewhere on here.

3+1 Power Phases

Certainly aimed for the budget consumer but props to them.

Well that sucks, thanks for noticing that.
