I have a mini-atx asrock p4 i865g s478 with a 3ghz presccott D0 chip, in an antec nsk1300 mini-atx case. There seems to be a strange noise that starts when im transfering anything via the lan port...

I have thought about lobbing in a cheap lan card but I dont really want to do this if I can avoid it, if the problem goes away that means the lan port is faulty and its rma time :(

Anyone else had a problem like this?

My ASRock/Realtek LAN makes noises on my TFT speakers, but that's just bad shielding rather than anything actually wrong.

This noise happens everytime I move data of any size to this pc, all my other machines dont emit the noise

Its defo around the lan port, psu area. I initially thought it was the psu but its defo the lan port. The noise is like a resonating electric current that goes fipfipfipfipfipfipfipfipfip (lol sorry its the best way I can describe it)

What bothers me is ive heard this sound before on another motherboard from way back, the noise was coming from a dodgy capacitor
