Guys I am building a new pc for a friend. I have installed Windows XP SP3 twice with no problem with SATA mode set to IDE and 'compatibility'. As soon as I try to install Windows XP with SATA mode set to RAID or AHCI using the drivers from fdd (F6 install - tried both sets of drivers RAID and AHCI) it blue screens during installation!, normally just before it restarts after copying files, all stop errors equate to driver/configuration issues! 
He needs SATA RAID/AHCI to be available as he requirs to 'hotplug' his eSATA drives!
I remember having a similar problem on a P35 board with ICH9R and older SATA/RAID installation drivers solved the problem! Any help would be appreciated!
