Asrock Z170 board preview

Prefer the look of the extreme model myself. Never used an ASrock board here, how do they stack up compared to say gigabyte and Asus?

These boards look really nice actually, as per above not a fan of ASRock atm but if they get their act together and possibly their support too, that may be changing!

Essentially the next chipset after Z97, I assume it will be coming out with Broadwell (the new CPUs)

I currently have an ASRock X99 board and can't fault it, nor their Z97 board I had a while back. I must say these boards do look a bit better and if ASRock keep it up they are certainly on the right path

Intel 100 series chipset

The 100-Series chipsets will be separated into the Q170 and Q150 motherboards for the corporate spectrum, B150 Motherboards for the business spectrum, Z170 and H170 for the consumer spectrum and H110 for the value spectrum. All chipsets will support Skylake and will feature LGA 1151 socket.

i was just going to ask if anyone knows how many pcie lanes will be on the cpus?

cpu has 1x16...

wonder why the chipset has 20...and whether 16 lanes from chipset (for eg sli or pcie ssd) is just as good re. speed/latency..
