Good afternoon!
I'm well glad after finding out my GFX isn't what's faulty but my motherboard is.
The issue is the top two PCI-E lanes don't work. Windows don't seem to recognise anything but do make the crazy loud spin when the power connectors aren't connected into the graphics card.
Well I read someone else had issues with the two top lanes from the Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 but connecting it to the third slot worked. I went to test if my 6950 TOXIC worked in the third lane and guess what? Ding!
I was wondering if there's any disadvantages having it at the third PCI-E slot compared to the top two. Happy with just one card till a next whole new build.
Should I RMA the board? (Going to need to buy thermal paste with it too).

Also I'd like to mention this board has been giving me some issues which I'll point out:
Onboard ethernet does not work at all
Logitech 510 keyboard cannot boot into bios or anything during post (with latest bios ver)
2 of the 16x PCI-E lanes don't work.

I think I'm just very unfortunate and got a crappy one. I hear a lot of great things about this board and I wanted one that actually worked fully. :(

I'm lonely without a computer :( And I don't want to unscrew for awhile, my thumbs are sore from all that)
I bought a PCI network adapter do the ethernet issue is resolved and my old-school dell keyboard helps me boot into bios.
Is it bad having the card on the third PCI-E slot? It looks relatively odd being really close to my PSU.

Crappy phone picture :/

Yeah you really should RMA it. The board is clearly faulty with all of those issues and as the third PCI slot is only x4 so you're not making the most of your GFX card. I feel your pain in having to unscrew everything again but if you stay with the mobo, you'll just be stuck with a wasted £130.

If it's any conselation, I've got the same board and it works perfectly. Once you get a new one, you'll see the difference :)

+1 for an RMA tbh.. You don't spend money on things to have so much of it fail hard... If it were a car or a tv you'd have returned it along time ago...

Bite the bullet.. You will thank yourself in the long term...

Yep RMA the board,no brand or model is RMA proof and even the best can go or be faulty.
