Hi guys,

Am currently running an i5 3570k on an asrock z77 extreme 4 everything is going great but for some reason my Ram slots dnt seem to work properly, the ram slots am talking about are the A slots whenever i configure my ram into dual channel dr debug outputs an error code of 55 stating that theres no ram installed, but whenever i install the ram modules into B1 and B2 my computer seems to boot up fine, with no problems.

I've read online that this is caused due to a bent pin within the cpu socket, but i've already checked there and i couldn't see any bent pins.

The ram modules that am current using are the: G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws X DDR3 1600 Dual Kit - Blue.

Could anyone help me out with this problem, i've been trying to sort this out for weeks now, and if this problem consists then i might need to resort to buying a different board.

Thanks in advance guys

hi

To install dual channel memory u want one stick in A1 slot and other one in B1 slot and if you get 2 more dual channel memory stick u would put them in A2 slot and B2 slot.
How it works i think is the A slots are one channel and B slots is another channel so if u put the ram in this configuration they both get there own lane so more info can pass through, and the computer can access each channel both at the same time with different infomation.

Hope this helps.

Hi MilkyJoe,

Thank you for replying to my problem, erm unfortunately i've tried all sorts of configurations within the board but it still wont let me boot up. i've tried A1 B1, A2 B2 but still nothing, what i can tell you though is that whenever i place my ram modules in either A1 and A2 whether if i seated one or both of my modules in within the A channels my pc will not boot up at all, but whenever i seat one or both of my ram modules in B slots my pc boots up without any problems.

Just to to let you know both of my RAM modules aren't faulty i've been sure to test them each.

Kind Regards
