Feel like a nubje asking about this but...

2500k, Z77 Extreme4 - first Asrock board, not a bad board.

Manual voltage at 1.3v, 4.5ghz is no problem running Prime95. Switch to Offset Mode and it's a different story. I have to go with around -0.030v, resulting in 1.36v to get it to boot. Once I'm in Windows I can adjust the offset to get it to 1.3v and it's fine.

I've been playing with adaptive turbo voltages but these haven't helped. What am I missing?

You might need slightly more offset compared to fixed voltage, each chip/board varies

Tried a higher level llc and less offset? It nifty let you get closer to 1.3v at load

Played with LLC and got nowhere.

However turning off C states sorted it. I don't really want these to be off though. Any way around this?

You need those though to enter idle mode,c3/c6

C1e can be left off as it won't affect things aslong as eist is enabled

There's no other way around it

No it will enter idle without them - just won't step inbetween 1600mhz and 4700mhz with them off.

It's either there a) isn't enough voltage to at any of the between multipliers or b) when the mutliplier jumps up to 45/47 the board can't ramp the juice up fast enough. Since I've played with LLC extensively & tried the turbo mode offset voltage (its at +0.043v atm) I'm not sure what else I can do!
