Asrock Z77-ITX restarts when stress testing

I've moved to a mITX system with a little Asrock Z77-ITX and this little board is kicking my ass!!

Every time I run Intel Burn Test the machine shutdown and restarts, even when using the standard test.

Voltages to the CPU are fine and more then enough for the clocks.

Power and current draw are maxed out in BIOS.... running out of idea's here

Anyone got a clue why it does it? Have I forgot to turn a setting off?

It had no problem running IBT on my last motherboard.

The chip is Intel Burn Test stable at 5Ghz with 1.412v

It's Intel Burn Test Stable at 4.7Ghz with 1.275v

I'm testing it 4.6Ghz with 1.4v and with LLC on full it still restarts.

I'll try cinebench now.

RAM's fine dude, It works fine at 4.4Ghz, second I try and go over it plays up and restarts.

Wanted a smaller rig so gone full blown ITX.... Not tried the other voltages.

That's what I'm saying, it will not give more then 4.4Ghz on this board without cutting out and restarting.

Wonder if it's to do with my new PSU?

It has done yes... I don't if I should DSR the PSU and get a different brand or buy a new Mobo.

I've gone to mini itx so only a single PCIEX slot for a single 290.

Not that having 3x 290's idling would affect the CPU's stability while stress testing anyway.

I don't think it's the VRM's, there's loads of reviews for the board running higher voltage then I am and it copes just fine.

Just formatting some HDD's that I have around and one had a Windows 8 installed so I run Intel Burn Test at 4.5Ghz on that it passed without any issue.

I'm running on a mSATA SSD that's located beneath my CPU socket so I wonder if it's a thermal shutdown, not from the CPU overheating but from the mSATA SSD as the heat will spread from the CPU to the mSATA slot??

Never mind, just tested it again and it failed, curious why it passed the first time around.

The system had only just been powered on so everything was cool...... Second time the parts had time to warm up?

Not heard of sunflower.... If it's a cheap pus, it may not matter if it is 'rated' at 750w.

Also, you are a little quick to dismiss certain possibilities. Just because reviewers had no problems with more volts and temps on that board, doesn't mean it won't necessarily be the problem. Not all electronics are created equal.

Also, CPUs don't always clock the same on different boards. So it is quite feasible more volts may be required than your previous.

Same goes for ram. Just because it ran 2400 on previous doesn't mean it will do same here.

It's entirely possible that you may have reached limit of what that CPU/board/memory combo will do.

Forget about what you got fom previous board - as you are no longer using it...

It's not the boards overclocking abilities dude, limitations between different boards tend to vary 200Mhz at most, not 600Mhz like this is.

The PSU is a Super Flower 750w unit and is brand spanking new.
