Assange to go!

Announced that Sweden has dropped their arrest warrant.

A major victory for human rights and no.... He has not committed crime. It was all a political smoke screen all along... Some of us knew it from the start.

Down to the UK now to treat him fairly. They will likely do the dirty and extradite him anyway

They will just make something up and extradite him. I hope they don't but time will tell. Its only taken 5years for me to be proved correct about the allegations.

Hopefully this place and certain "rapeboy" posters will retract.

Who is 'they' and where will they extradite him?

You're joking right? I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Americans went after him.

I wouldn't either - but the other poster is being rather vague. If he was referring to the US then they wouldn't necessarily need to make something up nor would it necessarily be unfair.

What do you mean?

You've just stated that Sweden has dropped their arrest warrant?

I'm sure they can drum up some WikiLeaks colluding with Russia conspiracy to justify extradition, they don't even need to present evidence anymore just say that's it's classified intel like they've been doing with the whole Trump/Russia connection.

Yup, you seem to be referring to the US too. The other poster didn't mention the US thus the question.

About time.

No conspiracies needed this time, he is the public face of Wikieaks whom published dangerous leaks without even attempt to redact sensitive information. He deserves the book thrown at him.

What kind of "dangerous" leaks are these? Leaks that call into question entire swathes of elitist immunity? War crimes?

I think with you saying doesn't redact sensitive info you are referring to an erroneous report about homosexuals or details of people already on lists and known?

I was referring to the US, yes.

We will know soon enough the UKs stance.
I guess the most obvious question we can ask you at this point is to show us conclusively an article or two where WikiLeaks information has resulted in what you claim? Please be aware that some articles have already been refuted.

That's true. However from reading previous threads on here its quite apparent that the media can still do peoples thinking for them.

I've been on a sabbatical from here for near 6months to just see if I notice any changes in zeitgeist. The Assange issue today allowed a good acid test and nothing has changed. Assange is still guilty according to some on here despite the case being cleared twice. Some people never learn

All the conspiracy theorists who predicted that Assange was going to be assassinated/illegally renditioned/handed over to the Yanks for execution, etc. are looking pretty stupid right now.

Also, the fact that the case has been dropped is not proof of Assange's innocence.

This is for a court to decide, not you. The Swedish DPP, Marianne Ny, was clear about the withdrawal of the arrest warrant, "We are not making any pronouncement about guilt."
Well, yeah, because that's how the law works. There can be no determination of guilt if there's not even an arrest warrant, let alone a charge. There is nothing for a court to decide. It's a nothing. There is no question to answer. Mu.

There is a certain comedy here, if he had just gone to Sweden he would either have been found innocent and released or found guilty and spent a couple of years in prison, either way he would then have been free to return to Australia, stay in Sweden or whatever.

But now because of his hair brained plan to evade justice he's spent five years under voluntary house arrest, could go to jail for up to a year for jumping bail if he leaves the embassy, and to make it worse there is now an actual possibility of extradition to the USA which was impossible before.

Guess he'll be happy stroking his martyr complex either way lol.
