Right im having a problem with Assassin’s Creed 2.

The game loads up fine. I choose my last recent save file. Then it loads. As soon as i get to the next bit ( the room where it's all white where you have to run around to start the game)

It crashes to Desktop. Now i dont know why it's doing that.
Specs are fine. Q6600 @ 3.2, 4GB Ram, P5Q, MSI 5850.

Any solution?

:(

If you haven't already done it, download your latest graphics card drivers and game patch. It should work fine compatibility wise, your using the same card as me.

I'd try it without overclocking your PC too.

GFX driver is up to date. how do i update it to the latest version? BTW it's a retail version.

Yes i put everything back to defualt to see if it did the same thing and get same old problem.

I did delete Temp files from Comp. That didn't work.

And the other was:

Right clicked "AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe" > Properties > Compatibility tab > Check "Run this game in compatibility mode for:" > Select "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) > Apply > OK to close properties pane.

And that didn't work.

Any other idea's?

Or is it gona be i have to uninstall the damn thing and re-install it again?

I'm thinking it's the disk unfortunately. If it is crashing in exactly the same place. A good scrub might fix it hopefully.

Disk? im not even using the disk. Infact ever since iv installed it never had to use the disk.

Right everything is uptodate and still problem.

What i have noticed is that, i started a NEW saved game. The problem is the same it crashes to desktop at the very same place on my first saved file, if that makes sense. Before that i can run the game play it all sorts.

It crashes to desktop the momernt i escort Ezio's Mother and sister away from the place/area. As soon as it saves/synchronized the game and takes me back to the white room it then crashes to desktop.

Screenie below.

As I recall when playing you can abandon any of the side quests at any time so maybe try that and you should possibly reappear in the same area and be free to carry on playing and select another assassination quest or whatever and maybe do the sister one later
