Anybody else looking forward to this?

I think its fascinating they are moving the timeline to 1400's and the location to Itally, Im looking forward to exploring Venice more than say Rome....

Its great news though, I loved the original!

I am sort of looking forward to it - I really want them to have made the platforming elements something more than just 'press A and run at stuff to do everything'. That was the main gripe i had with the first one.

After being really hyped at the start of the last one then getting two hours in and found it tedious and repetitive. A new timeline and location i cant help but think its gona be more of the same.

I rinsed through the first. It was alright, but nothing special really. The run/jump/stab thing lost its charm after a while, and I literally completed the game for the same of completion.

I loved the whole Old World (Damascus, Acre etc) setting of the original, it really made the game for me, so if the sequel is as good as the original, Im definitely looking forward to it.

The first one was a repetitive mess of a game, hope this is better. You did the same 3 things every mission in the first, I don't know how people can call it "awesome".

i really loved the first, i just hope in the second they can add more combat moves, more to the story, different kinds of missions, etc.

The first was one of the most boring games i've played this gen. It looked stunning, but was like gaming with training wheels. Everything from movement to combat was as dumbed down as it gets. No depth, totally uninspired - Assassin's Creed was all mouth and no trousers.

Now, if the second can look as good and actually have gameplay, i'll be happy.

I'd definitely get it, but like some have already said the first wasn't IMHO the best in terms of gameplay so might wait for it on budget or pre-owned :D

I've had the 'Black Edition' pre ordered for months but it seems there's now a 'White Edition'

Black Edition

Assassin’s Creed 2: Black Edition will come shipped in “black packaging,” each copy having its own unique authentic holographic signature. It will also include a “64-page finely crafted leather style hardcover and parchment-finish” book with concept art and developer interviews as well as the game’s soundtrack, a toy of main character Ezio and three in-game bonus missions.

White Edition

Ubisoft has announced a new collector’s edition for Assassin’s Creed 2. After the announcement of the Black Edition, fans can now pre-order also the Assassin’s Creed 2: White Edition, a special limited edition that is “lighter” than the black edition, featuring just the Ezio figure and an additional mission. The price is set to €79.90, €10 less than the Black Edition which features also the 64-page artbook, soundtrack and two exclusive contents.

Assassin’s Creed 2: White Edition and all the other versions will be launched on November 17th for the PlayStation3, XBox 360 and PC.

I'm really looking forward to the game, loved the first one and looking forward to getting more of the story from the "outside". I just hope it isn't as repetitive as the first game.
