Hi Guys

Thanks for reading this, just a quickie, based on all elements, graphics, playability, exitment etc, which of the above games would you recommend for PC?

I have never played any of the series and ideally would hope both have the same level of graphics, but I understand the later (skyrim) was out back in 2011 so not sure if they would match up to AC.

Let me know what you thinks guys?

Thanks DC

Skyrim, no question. Graphically it's inferior technically, but the myriad of mods which remedy that change that slightly. Replayability, sheer content, storyline and most importantly fun all go to skyrim. As much as I've enjoyed Black flag, it's a 10-30 hour romp at best, whereas Skyrim is more of an epic. PLaying it over again with different types of characters, different quest lines etc is what gets you 100-200+ hours of gameplay in skyrim, not to mention how fun modding can be on it's own.

So yeah, skyrim, no question at all. Black Flag is quite weak really and would be stronger as a game not in the AC series. The AC stuff really lets it down and makes it quite a chore sometimes.

Skyrim by a country mile!! Just recently installed a set of mods called S.T.E.P, really makes the game look beautiful. Have clocked in at 119 hours so far but started a new character so expect that to increase by a great deal!

Depends how much you're into modding. Skyrim can look almost photo realistic, within reason, if you really take the time to get those mods fine tuned and grab a real quality ENB. You can spend 100's of hours modding this game, let alone playing it.

Assassins Creed IV is fun for a few hours but then it gets repetitive extremely quickly.

thanks guys for your input, I am newbie when it comes to modding, and graphics is the main thing I would be looking to improve.

does anybody have any recommendations for the best and easiest mods to install skyrim?

Thanks

I can't give a fair comparison as I've never played a single AC game but I've got about 400 hours in skyrim, which says a lot on its own. Same points as above. I'll post some screen shots later when I get home from work of how my game looks after following STEP and installing RealVision ENB. It looks amazing, and there is a lot of extra features added in as well :)

I'm going to have STEP burned in my brain at this rate :p

Haha try sitting downloading each mod one by one at work, saving to your google drive, then at home installing them one by one in the correct order, only to then trouble shoot load order problems :D Finally got it working, but I'd estimate it took about 10 hours in total to install STEP.

Ok Guys, I think you have won me over for Skyrim and I will purchase the legendary edition. However after checking the nexus and the page suggested on this form for mods, I have just realised............... I'm not just a newbie at mods...... I need the guide for dummies book :p

I have modded before but the sheer quantity of mods available and weather or not they are compatible is overwhelming, I would normally just click on everyone and try and install haha.

As said before I am mainly interested in getting the best graphics possible so that kinda narrows it down haha.

Had a few suggestions - Climates of Tamriel mod
also checked the top lists on Nexus and the SKYUI and RealVision ENG are there. So hoping I will be on the right track.

To be honest I can't be bothered to buy a game then install a ton of mods to make it look better only to probably find I dont like the game. Horses for courses.

I've started playing AC IV Black Flag because its nothing really like the previous AC games and is more like Far Cry 3 at sea. It also doesnt need any mods to improve it further.

Just my tuppeny appeny

I haven't played Assassins Creed 4 so can't offer a direct comparison, but...

Skyrim is a great game without mods. With mods it is just brilliant and can look fantastic. I installed most of the mods recommended on the Realvision ENB page on the Nexus, as well as the ENB of course. It looks amazing. My only 'issue' with the way I have gone, is that nighttime and cave lighting is far more realistic, meaning that you have to use a torch or 'wearable lantern' with mod - whilst more realistic, it is a little hard to see :D

There are a lot of great gameplay mods as well.
