Assassins creed and the 360 controller ?

So i bought assassins creed and expected the 360 controller to work with it as it says on the box, but it doesnt at all, i have tried multiple things and nothing works.
Does anyone know a real method that works please as its starting to really annoy me.

my 360 controller worked fine with it.
have you got the lates drivers/software for the controller.

Edit: and do you have the latest game patch

Edit2: the latest patch has: Added support for x64 versions of Windows

Ok nevermind i just saw that theres little arrows in the controller section so you can choose the 360 controller, i seriously think i need glasses thanks anyway Oddw1re
