I can't be the only one to be playing this, surely? I bought it from CD Keys for £16 the other day.

Effectively it's Black Flag with an Irish protagonist and some colder locations (North Atlantic as opposed to the Caribbean) but that suits me fine, as I thought Black Flag was the best in the series....There is only so much building climbing you can do before it all gets very tiresome (hello AC3!)

I've not played Unity, but obviously followed the launch debacle. To be honest, it really didn't appeal to me after the freedom of the sandbox style sailing in Black Flag. The ship stuff was half the fun!

Am playing it at 4k (UHD) resolution and it's running much better than Black Flag did. I'll try it with an FPS counter tonight but it seems to be 60fps even at that high resolution. Looks fairly good in places, it's using the Black Flag engine so it's on par with that, albeit not as colourful due to the different environment.

One or two things I noticed that I thought was weird

1) The only anti-aliasing option is FXAA. I didn't bother turning that on, as it's less of an issue at 4k anyway. Black Flag had SMAA and MSAA.

2) I'm not sure the LOD is set as far as Black Flag, as i've noticed things popping in to view more frequently than I did whilst playing Black Flag.

Am playing with all the settings as high as they can go.

I'd recommend it if you enjoyed AC: IV Black Flag though. I heard the story/main missions were about half the length of Black Flag but that's not a bad thing :D

Isn't rogue on the last engine and not the same as Unity? It as released on the last gen consoles as the last AC game they were releasing for it.
