Assassin's Creed Unity FanART

Nice. Do you start with a screen cap and photo-shop it or is all your own work from the ground up ?

I look at some screen cap reference for the work or combine stuff together (like using them as textures for the bg etc) and then do a ground build up, while if it is a pure original work, I'll have a collection of references for a sense of perspective and then do a ground build up.

Only times when I have photoshop a reference is when I need it as a texture, like a building for example or the ground image to reduce the density and match with the rest of the painting.

@Tom0 thanks for the thread.

That is rather well done. The blurriness and smoke really does convey the heat of battle. Nice :)

I like your overall form and roughness, keep an eye on your perspective and consistency between the different elements though as the tiles look too clear and at a different angle from the rest of the scene.

Look forward to seeing some GitS stuff :)

Yeah, I thought that myself after re-checking the finish piece. It's always good to go back to a painting after a few hours when you have originally finished it. Might notice mistakes that you didn't see at the time.
