Assassins Creed Valhalla Bench Thread

Sir @LtMatt I recently got Odyssey, is there a thread to necro on this or worth setting one up? Would be good to see if the last game the wedge between vendors grew wider.
You are welcome to start your own mate. I picked this game as I actually own it.

It has a built in benchmark and the results screen will show the settings used for each benchmark run.

Sadly there are not many games out there that meet these requirements which is why you don't see that many game bench threads.

Here's mine.

1440p. PBO on CPU and overclocked ram.

Nvidia drivers 461.40.

You need to add the typical clockspeed that your 3080 runs at in this game and whether you've overclocked it otherwise LtMatt will not add your score to the Assassin's Creed Valhalla leaderboard.

It looks like that one has too, I not checked to see if there was an old thread covering it, but it might be worth it if there is interest then I will take it forward. Not completed Valhalla yet (92% though) and river raids round the corner may mean I delay my Odyssey beginning. :)

I don’t own the game but if I can get a freebie or pick it up cheap I’ll contribute even if it is not favourable towards Radeon.

Was this a Freudian slip for the Valhalla thread? ;)

Well both are AMD sponsored although Odyssey tends to favour Nvidia, as the older Assassin's Creed games do. However, Valhalla is using much more modern and advanced graphical techniques and in my opinion looks far superior to the previous games in the series. It would be interesting to know the precise technical reason why AMD is doing so much better in AC Valhalla, Dirt 5 and Godfall, but it's a big win for AMD in my book that they are.

I was considering bench threads for those games as well but I need to check to see if they have a built in benchmark and the results screen shows the settings used.

That would be good if you could do that, although I don't own Dirt 5 or Godfall. I expected more takers for this Valhalla bench thread, but maybe people don't like seeing their shiny Nvidia cards being destroyed by AMD ;).

It's going for £13.99 on CDKeys, been considering getting it myself at that price. If we're going to start a benching thread then that could be the final push I need to pick it up. I understand it considered to be the best Assassin's game...

That's why I got it, I applied another code too to get couple more quid off it, a friend of mine albeit a PS4 player recommended it as the best one he's played. I have it downloaded now but not starting it till I have Valhalla boxed off. I also thought maybe not as good graphics as valhalla but surely will be good if all setting put on max?

Oh aye definitely! Sure look how long the Witcher 3 has been around now and it still looks great. For me you can go back 10 years nearly now and games still look amazing at high resolutions.

Sorry I tried to set game settings from memory, was wondering it was not great score but I do set voltage curve lower than default so it doesn't hammer 500w on the PSU. CPU should be in the screenshot provided (Ryzen5 3600).

Radox has far more mhz on the Core/Mem than me - interesting to know your Power Consumption at the wall @Radox-0 - mine is maxing out at 460w at the wall (nice and conservative) :)

Ahh just saw this comment now. Do not have a power meter, well one that still works!. But my 3090FE is actually slightly undervolted compared to stock to hit those frequencies so in benchmark will consume around 340w on average at those speeds. The 9900k I have is pretty meh above 4.9ghz so leave at stock and use lowish voltage, at 4k has low usage and only uses around 60w on average for benchmark. Rest of system is bare bones really, 2 Nvme drives, 2 sticks of Ram, 3 fans, and few wireless receivers for wireless devices so lets round up to 450w. Of course that is component draw, PSU is 93% efficient apparently at this sort of load, so looking in region of 480w or there abouts from wall.
