just spotted it for 7.99

is it worth it, I heard its quite repetitive but looks gorgeous, how long will it take to complete as I have a couple of days off next week I need to fill :)

Afaik it takes about 10 hours to complete ( haven't completed it myself yet).

It's very consoleish and a bit repeative, but it has a good story and is enjoyable imo, looks good too... If you don't mind consoleish games it's very good, if you get annoyed by the likes of Far Cry2, GTA, etc then stay away from it...

For 7.99 I'd buy it, cheap enough imo for such a game...

As said, it is a fairly decent game, I liked it, however missions can be repetitive I guess - 'Go hear, kill so and so, go hear pick pockit this chap' etc.

It does look nice as well I think.

If you just follow the main story you could do it in under ten hours easily, however you can try and find all the viewing towers etc in the game maps, but obviously you don't 'have' to.

If there's a demo play that until you complete it, then play it again but imagine the city you're playing in has a different name, then play it again but imagine the city you're playing in has a different name, then play it again but imagine the city you're playing in has a different name.........

In a word, YAWN!

I wouldn't pay more than a fiver. Very dull game. I Uninstalled then sold pretty quickly.

Great looking game but the novelty soon wears off. Your character (Altaïr/Desmond) being a total dork doesnt help either.

Its one of those games thats amazing at first but then wears thin. The free running aspects are awesome but once you get over them and you realise you have to do a variety of the same 5 things everytime to progress it does get a little tedious. Its definitely worth the play though the maps are huge and the graphics are quality, I would get it!

For sure i would definitely pick it up. Not all games are to everybodies taste, but for a small price like this for a game like Assassins Creed i'd jump on it. I agree to a certain extent that the missions do seem fairly repetitive but i really enjoyed the storyline and i am looking forward to the second in the trilogy.

The graphics are also top notch and the first time round finding out all of the different aspects of the game are really quite fun :D

I loved it when I bought it. Gorgeous to look at, and its really quite fun being able to climb pretty much any vertical feature...

But as so many have said, it wears thin, and now I consider it to be a tedious load of tripe.

Still, for 7.99, give it a go.

i didn't like the forced elements at the start. The modern part of the story line seemed to be tacked on so you would have a funky way to load the levels. Although i didn't get that far before selling.

As many have said repetitive.

Amazing game.

PC version has the best gfx & minimal loading times + 4 extra mission types the console versions never got. Atmosphere is just incredible and playing this on a HDTV you can get lost in it for hours on end!

Gameplay is no more repetitive than almost every other modern game in the same way that in a driving game you would just drive or in a platform game you would just jump from platform to platform or in a FPS you just shoot people etc etc. Almost every game has stale gameplay this has a little variety in it but at the end of the day you explore amazing cities/landscapes and assassinate or kill people in it. You can also do side quests like collect flags and kill templar knights or pickpocket.

If you have an ATI 4xxx series gfx card do not patch the game as it reemoves the DX10.1 support which gives 25% FPS boost with AA applied.

For £8 its a mega bargain!!
