Assembling Turbo Trainer

Hi everyone. I'm trying to assemble my Tacx turbo trainer that needs to be assembled according to the wheel size used. I'm planning on using my road bike which has a 700c wheel. The three positions on the trainer are:

I was planning on assembling it in position 2 but aren't 700c wheels 622mm diameter?

The 622 refers to the "bead seat diameter" rather than the tyre diameter.

You want position 3.

I could only get the roller to touch the tyre in position 1 or am I doing something wrong?

You sure it's position one and not three? It's the one which makes it closest to the roller. The other positions are all too far away.

It turned out to be position 2 (race tyre) as suggested in the Tacx forum. Thanks anyway.

622 is the rim diameter, but the measurements in the chart include tyres (hence the difference between the 'Race' and 'ATB 29' even though they are both 622mm rims)

Theoretically, a 25mm wide tyre should be around 25mm high too. So you can add 622 + 25 + 25 to get the actual wheel diameter (672, so position 2 in your chart). Tyre sizes dont always work out like that though, so either measure it or just try a few positions and see which fits best.
