GF got me tickets to watch the MotoGP at Assen this year for my birthday :D

Has anyone been before?

Eurotunnel is pretty damn cheap so will be using that, £62 return!

Hotels as you'd expect are quite pricey for the event but seems there are a few within 20 miles for less than £70... or should I just camp? :D

Camp you tart! Get a load of beers and camp, are you going solo? Via bike?

I'm off to the Spanish GP this year with a few mates. Which is then tailing off with me splitting off from the group, picking up my GF in Lyon and shes jumping on the back of the bike to then tour for just over a week in northern EU. Munich (Oktoberfest), Switzerland, Netherlands etc.

I would also be up for another GP run if the opportunity arose :P

Haha I have no problem with camping, just need to look into where it is, assume I need prebook it.

With the GF and more than likely car now, as I need to get things booked up and currently have no bike :( and more than likely gf will be put off getting on a bike with me now :D

Haha, very good point :P

I'm not sure to be honest... I would either camp near by but if it's over half of the cost of a hotel room 30 mins drive away, then I would just stay further away in a hotel and drive down in the morning.

I've been 5 out of the last 6 years, always have a great time, although I'm doing Brno for a change this year.

We stop in Groningen, it's a short train ride to Assen (15 minutes), cheap regular buses to the track from there. Always stopped at Martini Hotel, nice central location, clean & friendly.

Friday night we spend in Assen as they have a fair bit of entertainment on, usually have the Saturday & Sunday nights in Groningen, a nice town, a bit quieter, but ideal if you don't want to be full tilt all weekend ;)

Where are your race tickets?

I have a feeling they are for the TT world tribunes?

Thanks for the info I will have a look at Groningen, would be easier to get a train/bus in and out of the circuit rather than have to drive and sit in traffic, I think we are going to eurotunnel it saturday morning early, then stay saturday night and travel back Sunday.
