"Our priority is to improve, optimize, and evolve all aspects of ACC. If after our long list of priorities the level of optimization of the title, and the maturity of the technology, permits a full blown implementation of RTX, we will gladly explore the possibility, but as of now there is no reason to steal development resources and time for a very low frame rate implementation," said the developer, in response to a question about NVIDIA RTX support at launch.

Too costly to implement RTX?

Nvidia not bankrolling implementation?

Performance cost is too high?

Nobody cares?

Wow, no full-blown implementation - has to be because it would be too taxing on fps I think

It's just a waste of their time. The hardware to run it properly doesn't exist yet. Maybe when 7nm rolls around... if you have £1000+ to spend of course.

why do people without a rtx card keep on trolling that the hardware to run it does not exist yet. I have happily been playing metro exodus this week at 4k ultra on my OC'd 2080 at decent fps (fine for me anyway - 40 - 45 fps - RTX high / DLSS)

To stand a good chance of getting RTX working with most of its features needs something like 2080 Ti SLI.

Unfortunately this is a lot less than 1% of the market which is not very appealing to game devs.

Assetto Corsa dumping RTX is just what NVidia needs to help them see reality and get their pricing/hardware performance with this new tech sorted out.

The pricing of Turing is absolutely disgusting, even if people are prepared to pay the asking price does not mean they are happy.

If NVidia are really serious about getting RTX established maybe they should take a loss on the asking price of the cards and sell them cheaper a bit like you sometimes see with consoles where the hardware is sold cheap to establish a user base and demand for software.

What use is it to a game dev where one new tech cancels out another new tech.

RTX = better image

DLSS = worse image

From a game devs point of view they have to spend money adding these new features for very little extra benefit visually.

I dont understand this argument that people voluntarily pay an asking price but at the same time are not happy to do so. Im sorry but i was happy paying for my 2080 at the price I paid. I was going to get a 2080ti but chose not too did not yoo as i was not happy to buy it at that price. I have never bought a product which i found to be too expensive. Its the same reason i wont go into starbucks and pay for an over priced coffee - to me its expensive but others are very happy to pay for a star bucks.

I am forced to pay car tax and car insurance and thats an expenditure i am not happy paying but have no choice as i own a car. (quite an expensive car - but again was happy to pay the price for the car even though i could have got a cheaper one which would have done a similar job).

people dont buy things unless they are happy with the price.

Acc has imo been a mess from day one, it's got a long way to go if it ever does get sorted. Basically they bit off more than they could chew.
I enjoy playing it mind, but the rtx thing is because they've got much more basic stuff to sort out.

100% Agree.
Wont buy Nvidia anymore just because of this.

Didn't you pay £3000 for a Volta once?

No I got it for a bargain £2700 lol.

That really does not change anything, NVidia cards are way overpriced.

Even the Titan V brings the above point into focus as it is still many times faster than any Turing card for DP professional work and as fast as a 2080 Ti for gaming, not bad for a two year old card.

GPUs are just tools used for gaming or professional work, if you want the best you have to pay for it but that does not mean you are going to be happy about the asking price.

You need the right tools to get the job done.

For gaming my RTX Titans are the best cards I have ever used and I am very happy with the performance, I am not happy about the asking price but these are two different things.
