Been looking for a cheap pre-owned supermini (sub £2K) but I'm no expert in motoring matters. I was wondering if someone who knows their apples could assist me by letting me post them links to cars I've found to see if they seem OK at face value. I'd rather not post them publicly in case someone else thinks it's a bargain too and swoops in ahead of me! 
Also, I was planning to have an RAC mechanic check any car before making the purchase - I assume this is wise for someone who doesn't know their windscreen wiper from their dip stick?
