Okay here is what I am trying to setup
Netgear ADSL Firewall Router DG834
Sky Netgear Super ADSL Router DG834GT
Netgear Wireless access point WG602 v2

Okay so here is how I currently have it set up.

The Sky router is at the staircase dealing with all my connections. Its my master unit. Dishing out ADSL to my dads PC via direct RJ45. Also by another RJ45 into my room where it goes into the back of the DG834GT which I just want to be used as a bridge. From the DG834GT I have my computer, Xbox 360 and the WG602 Wireless access point.

I guess all I want to know is how do I set up the DG834GT as a device just to bridge connections.

I have the sky router setup as a DHCP client thats all I know.

Im not amazingly flunent in networking so a step by step guide would be great.

Hope you can help.

Johnny

This is nearly what your after;

A few points though; What versions are the routers? You need WDS support on anything you want to bridge and only the later versions of the DG834 have the functionality. Not sure about the DG834GT. Ive just set up a bridge between a DG834 v4 and a WG602 v4, so I know that is possible. A few points worth adding are; Make sure the ssid name are the same on the devices and disable any security. When you get it all working, add wep security. wpa unfortunately doesn't work when you have them bridged.

Without reading this fully (too much vodka) surely you need a switch, or just disable dhcp on the rouer that isnt connected to adsl & use that as a switch.

EDIT assumeing the non connected adsl router has a 4 port switch build in. I am not familure with home grade stuff but would assume this is the norm.

Just so you know I am not after a wireless setup. Its mainly all hardwired?
Also, Inititally when I setup this connection I had all devices working for a couple of hours and then everythings paped out which makes me feel its a IP problem?

Ah, ok. Srry, I just assumed you were doing it wireless for some reason. Yeah, as m_cozzy says, just disable the dhcp on one of the routers, otherwise they will conflict. That should do the trick. If not, then just get a couple of switches for cheap. Would mean you could use gigabit then as well.
