Hello guys,

Just recently built my gaming pc which was annoying enough to build with little niggles
and setbacks.

What's really frustrating is now I finally have my 64 bit windows more problems are cropping up which is kind of annoying as I spent £1000 to get round these problems.

Firstly I have installed far cry and run it to find blue water and grass outside on the first level. I had this problem on my old computer and it was as simple as install a patch. So I download the patch and I get an error saying installshield cannot open of file or something like that.

Secondly I have installed viva piñata which came as a DVD to find that when I installed it it did not come up on the start menu nor did it have a desktop shortcut. I make a shortcut to the right application and it says use the launcher application. I guessed this to be fixed by me directly clicking the application but I get the same message.

Finally I have installed minecraft on my pc to find that I have no sound. I have checked my volume and everything is on full. I have forced updated and downloaded a new resource folder but still no luck.

Any help on these issues would be great because as usual google has nothing.

Thanks.

Your sound issue could be any of:

Incorrect cabling/connection
Faulty speakers
Faulty sound card
Outdated driver

Start from scratch, double check your speakers are connected properly, powered on and working.

Then uninstall the driver, download it fresh from the manufacturers website and install.

Check that there is no conflicting volume control software other than the stock Windows config.

I have installed a realtek sound driver for my on board audio. I fixed my viva pinata so I only need to fund a patch for farcry. Hopefully a patch for minecraft will come soon.

Just plugged in some speakers and now minecraft works. Just got to test if it now works for my HDMI. My speakers are for my downstairs PC so I can't use those.

Anyone have any links to a farcry 64bit graphics patch or something like that.
