ASTEROIDS the movie.....

have no idea how there going to make that in to a film lol

They should keep the black and white look, it will give it that edgy look...

As for the soundtrack, I'm sure someone like philip glass could do something good with the minimalist "blip, blob, blip, blob" from the game...

If the pilot of the ship gets an unlucky hyperspace the film could be over in 10 seconds..

Yeah, thats what I was saying in work ;)

But we can guess the plot easily, Earth is threatent by Asteroids, AMERICA of course being the only civilised nation sends their best TOP GUN into space in a newly developed uber space fighter and viola, instant movie ;)

Next in line should be Thrust, lone ship lost in a covernous asteroid needs to pilot out but is low on fuel and the pilot keeps finding mysterious fuel pods lying around.

I knew hollywood was desperate for films ideas, but I had no idea it was this bad :D
Universal has some experience of that, Reuters says, as it's currently in the middle of translating Hasbro's "Battleships" and "Candyland" board games into an onscreen experience.
