Aston Martin DBS

Agreed on the 8C its an unlikely choice. But an incredibly rare car.

Still not seen one in the flesh. And that V8...wont sound as good as it does on the scuderia. But then the 8C isnt as brash and in your face as the scuderia.

I think id take a new DB9 :) but then i don't really know a great deal about them, I'm just going off aesthetics really.

I would probably go for the DBS. I have driven my bosses DB9 and it was pretty good nice power and all but the DBS looks better.

Never driven a R8 but if i did it might change my mind.

I'll set this up as a hypothetical question, before people get too worried about whether this is a "look-at-me, look-at-me" thread.

A new hard-top goes for what? £150,000? So let's say you had that much to play, and you've set aside around that much you've already to decided to spend on a car.

Would you rather get a second hand DBS with say 6,000-7,000 miles on, or a brand new DB9? Or not an Aston at all? Maybe something a little cheaper like an R8?

GT2 non RS for £120k and keep the change for supercharger, still retain creature comforts, and then get a daily with the £20k or so left.

Personally i wouldnt buy a new one unless i had 10x that money in the bank and so can afford the depreciation, or wanted a spec thats not really available. something like this would do me fine and save £50k http://pistonheads.com/sales/1565253.htm

What I really love about porsches, except for the GT series, you can use them as a daily car and not attract attention, yet they are still supercars (like the 997 turbo) really.

Whereas go anywhere in an F430 and people stare at you with disgust.

Spend about £100k or slightly below on a few year old Vanquish S and keep the rest to pay for the petrol the thing consumes when driven 'spiritedly' (had a loan of one a while back for the odd day here and there and was returning around 7mpg for one of the days!) :D

GT2 non RS for £120k and keep the change for supercharger,

eh ? why would you want to supercharge a GT2 when its already turbocharged and produces 530bhp

It does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds

If that really isnt enough for you just take it to a tuner like Techart who will up the power to 800 bhp by chaging the turbos and intercooler and remapping etc..

why on earth would you supercharge a GT2 ?

Hang on how much do we have to spend cos there's loads of figures being thrown about here lol

Anyway I wouldn't have a db9 because I see them to such a extent I don't consider them a rare supercars type thing
same with bentley continentals
those two represent the ford focii of the supercars world

I don't think twoblacklines is all there. Mentally. I honestly don't think people should be responding as though he's a mentally sound person, and I mean no offence to you by saying that, tbl. It's my genuine belief.

Either that or he's a world class troll.
