To a full tank of diesel? Im mainly going to be doing mixed driving..I.E mostly motorway, and a few back roads here and there..
 
My 1.6 SXI used to do roughly 400 - 450 miles to a full tank if i drove conservatively. so expect to be roughly around there. :)

But yours was a petrol, the diesel will be noticeably better.

Why do most things I post in motors get flamed upon?

I had a 1.6 Petrol and when driven conservatively could get about 450miles to a full tank. I was giving him a rough ball-park figure. Yes it's not the exact amount of mileage but its an idea of what he could easily get with a diesel
 
It isn't the same engine, it isn't the same size tank odds are, i could have posted a guess, he wants to know a figure not someones best guess..

I'm not flaming you but its just a stupid comparison to make, its like someone with a 530D posting how much will i get out of a tank then someone with a 530i posting back saying 300miles...

But nobody is going to be able to tell him exactly how many miles hes going to get, it entirely depends on his driving style, what the road conditions are like etc.

Agreed, but someone with the same engine can give him a much better real world figure, otherwise he could take the combined fuel figure mpg and his tank size and get a calculator out.

Then why has no one picked on dangerous for stating what he gets from a vag tdi?!

Surely they are different engines with most likely different size tanks.

Although I Can see your point phate was only giving a guideline of what the sort of distance you could get out of a tank.

Because i don't want to get on the wrong side of Dave, payback will happen and knowing dave it will involve.... Well best not say...
