OP: yes I do
Trolls: Astras are crap etc etc
OP: thanks
Trolls: You want a Golf or a Focus
OP: I want the Astra
Trolls: no u dont, we actually know what you want better than you.
Repeat for a few more pages ad infinitum.
Guys, HE WANTS AN ASTRA. AN ASTRA AN ASTRA AN ASTRA
Im after another car at the moment, and its a bit rubbish, but I want it... I know there are other cars out there technically better in pretty much every way, but I want the car I WANT!! Its got a rubbish engine, its outrageously thirsty, and its not made anymore and spares are hard to find.. but I still want it.
Why dont people understand that?
Sometimes a car can be worse than the others, but more appealing. Not everything has to be the absolute best all the time. Lifes too short.
Telling someone they dont want something after they explicitly stated thats what they wanted, is bordering on plain rude and ignorant. I could understand if the advice was offered in a genuine manner, but the whole thing comes accross as rather condescending.
