I'm borrowing an Astra SXi Sport Hatch whilst my Corsa is having some stonechips and scratches repaired.

Now onto the Astra, whilst it goes like the stink on the motorway and sounds nice, I really can't stand this car

Interior is just too grey, I feel lost with all these buttons.
Rear window is too small to make out whats going on around me whilst reversing.
Driving position, just can't get used to it, the seats feel harder than the ones in my C
Gear stick, too used to the one in my C
Dash, I don't know when i'm speeding and when i'm not. I have to pay more attention lol.

Are all my dislikes. I can't wait to get my Corsa back. :o

I've drove the 5 door Astra 1.7CDTi Life and preferred that over this abomination :p

LMAO, I thought it was a big engined one you had there from you saying "it goes like the stink on the motorway" but no you got the slow one.

Incidently my Dad has got a 1.4 SXi Sport Hatch today as a hire car, he ain't going to be happy, he hates them.

Well I guess it feels quicker than the 1.0 I had for 10 months and the 1.2 I now drive.

And the 55 reg Corsa SXi I paid £6k odd ...

Yep, that's one good thing I've got to say about Vauxhall - i've also heard things like this happening with other Vauxhall cars. They may not make the best cars, but their customer service isn't too bad.

Depends on dealer im afraid, this morning I had to put up with this

Finance Manager: Why are you here?
Me: Because my car is booked in to have some stone chips and scratches repaired as it was the agreement when I bought it.
FM: You bought a used car, what do you expect?
Me: I wouldn't of bought the car unless they were repaired

So he reluctantly agrees to get the job done

Me: Do I get to borrow a car whilst mines being repaired?
FM: We don't have cars here to loan out

I eventually got them to hand over some keys aswell :D

I was less than satisfied with this guys attitude, quick to take money but not keep to his promises.

Maybe there ok to deal with, but I haven't had the opportunity to...

If the guys attitude is poor over agreed paintwork jobs, when money has to come out of the pot for mechanical or electical issues, I guess I could be in trouble?

I had it on paperwork that it'd have to go in to be sorted, but even that didn't wash til a nothing(salesman) came in that agreed to have the work carried out.

Could you possible run the reason why taxpayers should subsidise the cost of a Sports hatchback with 18 inch wheels past me again, please? I'm not really seeing it at the moment.

They put down a £1250 deposit, are there any monthly payments? If so how much?

I do agree the system is wrong, but what can be done? Dishing out spartan cars would be the best plan instead of these luxury BMW's and Hot Hatches...

Btw is it a government run scheme? If so that will explain it

Back to the Astra, as I turned the steering wheel either way, it would make a soft clicking noise, like when you turn a switch, is this normal or was the car knackered?

Cheapest 03 reg Astra Club 1.6 16v i've found is £4995 thats from a VX franchise, not sure what something similar on Autotrader would cost...
