Hello,

Just after some recommendation on astro turft boots.
I currently own a pair of these

Nike Total 90.

They are absolutly rubbish!!
I would advise people to avoid them. The quality of them is dire!

I had them about 2 weeks, played about 3 hours worth of five a side and the sole started coming away at the front. I have to keep glueing them. There terrible. Obviously you might scuff a shot and kick the ground a bit occasionally but i wasnt happy with them at all.
Obviously the kids at the sweat shop in the far east were getting high on the glue that they were supposed to be sticking my blinking boots together with.

I would have taken them back but i lose my receipt :(

I had a pair of cheapy umbro ones for ages before these and they were as tough as, well, old boots. They were great, never had any issue with them.

There are however noticably heavier than the Nike boots.

So, does anyone have any recommendation on a decent pair to go for that aren't going to fall to bits after a couple of games? Aren't too expencive and are quite light?

I know you'l all say.....go and try some on in the real world....blaa blaaa....

Just after some personal experiences.

Cheers fellas

Bobster.

I have these in boot form...

They are really light due to the fact they are mainly just water proof material. On the downside however if someone catches your foot it can hurt at bit.

Besides that all my astro/indoor footy shoes are from the Nike 5 range, they are all basically the same afaik just different colours and slightly sole depending from if they are more suited to indoor/outdoor. :)

I bought some Umbro S5's(?) for ten notes.

Do the trick for the one game of football I play a month, and they're comfy.

I've been wearing a set of Predators for astro and indoor for the last couple of years and they're still holding up well.

Hmm, I own your current shoes OP, and I find them bloody brilliant :/. Play footie nearly every day at college, and it gets quite rough out there! Still pretty much perfect bar mud and dirt on them, but i have absolutely zero complaints about the quality of them. Light so that you can move faster, and I find my shots are 100 times better than with standard football boots, can get so much swerve etc. on them. So I go against the OP and highly reccomend them for someone who likes to play in striker!:D

Thanks for all the reply gents :)

They look pretty nice, nice reduction from the RRP too. Hmmmm, might get the debit card out tonight. What are Puma like for fitting? Are they small fitting do you know?
If i'm not making sense i just find manufacturer sizes differ slighty. Some 10's can be bigger or smaller than others. The Nike ones i have at the minute are 11's. I am usually a 10 - 10.5 in shoes and trainers.

Are they hardwearing? The Umbro's i had lasted ages. I'm gutted i gave them away when i bought my new ones.

Master_X- funnly enough i went into my local sports store and looked at those total 90 shoot astro trainers, they look good but made my feet feel 3 times bigger and felt very very cheap. Glad i didnt buy them now, i did eventualy go for a pair of these:

Good choice ;)

Lies!!! :p Maybe they used glue to put your together  :p

mrmoose- samba's

Can you get Samba's for Astroturf? I thought they were more for indoor and hard surfaces? Where i play on a Tuesday i would be slipping about all over the place, it's usually a bit sandy and not get for normal soles.

Cheers for the input guys.

I'm seriously looking at them Pumas that BenjiSayers suggested. When i was in school i had a pair of Puma kings, they lasted years!
