Our garden had AstroTurf when we bought it, I’d say 85-90% of it is covered. Over the first year little did we know it needed maintaining.

I use the following techniques but does anyone else do anything different?

- We have a dog so I spray Non-bio washing liquid to cover the smell.

- I pressure wash it regularly.

- Spray the weeds that grow on top with rapid weed killer and pick them.

- Hoover once a year.

Then today I bought an electric multi purpose brush. We’ve been here 5 years and it looks like new again, well impressed for a Lidl purchase, cheapest I could find.

sounds like you would be better off just paving it than using fake grass to me.

my mate has it and apparently the neighbours cats love pooing on it . so he's had to buy sensors to keep them away.

Artificial grass is amazing. We love ours and will have it again at the next place. No issues here with cats!?

we bush ours against the pile and hoover probably once a month. We use proper cleaner designed to break down dog urine crystals to clean it probably every 3 months. It’s perfect for our family, quality and prep is key.
I ll look into that brush.

It’s far less maintenance than grass, dries quick so great if the dog and kids run in and out all year. It looks tidy all year round and never had an issue with cats. I honestly can’t knock it but it does need some tlc just like paving does.
