Hello,

my card used to run < 70C for a year or so... now 3.5years on it's hovering around 78-80C and as a result the fans are spinning louder now and the stepped performance has reduced in time with the overclock.

Im thinking of replacing the thermal paste on it. is this likely the cause of the increased temperatures? if so, which paste is goto these days?
 
Could certainly try replacing the thermal paste. With mine I had I used thermal grizzly kyronaught. Temps were mid 60s with stock fan profile for most the part with same model, I imagine any half decent thermal paste would do the job.
