Any details on these, Baddass? If they're a good price I'll be seriously tempted.

Yeah, I found that article too. I would definitely consider this if it were around £220-£230ish but £270 really is too much.pfk said:The retail price for the Asus PW 191 is said to be in the region of 400 euros (approx £273). I don't know about you but that's a bit pricey for a 19 inch widescreen TN monitor, especially when the Viewsonic VA1912W is available for £220 and the Acer 1916W for £180.
I have to say this monitor looks great; widescreen for games and movies and a potrait mode for web browsing. Is there any chance of OCUK getting hold of these for the price in my previous post?Asus issues a model called PW 191, a widescreen LCD which 19 inch in size. It provides a native resolution of 1440x900 pixels (WSXGA) which corresponds to an aspect ratio of 16:10. Its novel Crystal Shine coating is said to ensure vivid colors while at the same time reflecting nearly no light at all.
The PW 191 and its TN panel provides a contrast ratio of 600:1 and a maximum brightness of 330 cd/m². The display’s response time is specified as 8 ms which makes the monitor suitable for playing fast games on it, too. The viewing angles of the PW 191 measure 150 degrees horizontally and 130 degrees vertically.
The coating on the panel is believed to account for a clear picture quality with luscious colors. As opposed to conventional “glare panels”, the panel used in the PW191 is supposed to show almost no reflections.
Among the extensive set of features are a DVI input and a standard D-Sub input. The display is adjustable in height, it can be tilted by 45 degrees and, what’s more, pivoted by 90 degrees to portrait mode. Furthermore, this gadget comes with integrated speakers, which are powering 2x 2.5 Watt, as well as a jack for headphones.
Thanks to "Zero Bright Dot" warranty, the LCD can be exchanged once if there are bright dead pixels visible on the display. After that, the usual 3 year warranty including on-site exchange service applies.
As of now, the PW 191 is said to become available in stores for 400 Euros.
The contrast ratio conflicts with previous reports.Asus has announced its first 19in LCD monitor - pitching its 'zero bright dot' replacement policy and the screen's 90° landscape-to-portrait swivel feature. The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 1400 x 900. The image is enhanced with Asus' Splendid video technology, the company said, and there are twin 2W speakers on board to boost the host computer's audio output.
The PW191's specs include a 0.285mm pixel pitch, a 500:1 contrast ratio, an 8ms response time, and a colour range of 16.2m hues. There's a DVI-D port for digital connections, but the screen also has a VGA connector for older graphics cards. It has two 3.5mm stereo jack sockets, one for earphones, the other to hook up the host system. Asus bundles all the appropriate cables.
The company said it will replace the display free of charge if just one duff pixel is spotted on the screen in its first year of use. For the following two years, Asus operates a collect and return warranty.
